For our LOOPED project, we are seeking project partners with a wide range of expertise from the construction and IT sectors. Together, we aim to champion a pioneering vision for the future of municipal infrastructure construction.
The project is led by Hamburg’s Agency of Roads, Bridges and Waters (LSBG) on behalf of the Authority for Transport and Mobility Transition (BVM). LOOPED is part of the Hamburg-Takt construction programme, which includes the barrier-free upgrading of bus stops. Through the methodology of serial construction, LOOPED is also linked politically with the “Zukunft-Tiefbau” (Future Civil Engineering) strategy document of the Hamburg Senate as a long-term development project. CONSTRUCTION: Construction company
LOOPED is seeking an IPD project partner to undertake civil engineering works. The construction project involves the accessibility upgrade of bus stops already in operation, in accordance with the guidelines of the Hamburg Transport Association (HVV). In addition to earthworks, asphalt and concrete works and the levelling of adjacent areas, the scope of work includes the construction of surfaces and the installation of fixtures and fittings.

Civil engineering and precast manufacturers are working together as IPA partners to increase the degree of prefabrication for the BIM model stop in both planning and construction. Through Lean Construction, work preparation and implementation remain closely interlinked to ensure construction progress at a high pace across the specialist trades on site. To investigate the methodology of serial construction, BIM-based software solutions for construction sequence simulation and site management are being made available for testing by the contractor. Specifications, costing and invoicing are managed via AVA processes through shared data exchange.

CONSTRUCTION: Prefabricated component manufacturer
LOOPED is seeking an IPD project partner capable of increasing the proportion of prefabricated elements in the structural design. The current design options for the BIM model bus stop are based on traditional on-site construction methods. With this in mind, elements such as bus bays, interlocking paving stones or tactile guidance elements should, for example, be delivered to the site ready for installation.

Civil engineering firms and precast manufacturers are working together as IPD partners to increase the level of prefabrication in the planning and construction of the BIM model bus stop. Under the coordination of the precast manufacturer, innovative approaches to a temporary bus stop using a modular plug-in system are also to be assessed, which may require support from additional partners.
Through Lean Construction, work preparation and implementation remain closely interlinked to ensure construction progress at a high pace across the specialist trades on site. To investigate the methodology of serial construction, BIM-based software solutions in the areas of construction sequence simulation and site management will be made available for testing by the contractor. Construction: Engineering consultancy specialising in transport
LOOPED is seeking an IPD project partner to map out traffic planning, control and safety within a digitally integrated approach. Your task is to combine the modelling of structures, construction operations and traffic flow. You will pave the way for the ‘leaner production train’ to permanently safeguard serial construction methods with stable work cycles and minimal impact on traffic.

With expertise in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), the IT-supported integration of specialist processes is one of your strengths. With core competencies in urban road planning, you bring the structural engineering expertise required for system integration to the role. The planning and provision of traffic safety technology to accompany construction works is implemented under your coordination, where necessary by additional partners. To support serial construction through the model-integration of design, on-site execution and traffic flow, BIM-based software solutions in the areas of construction sequence and traffic simulation are made available for testing by the the contracting authority. Tender documents, costing and invoicing are managed via AVA processes through shared data exchange. You will be responsible for the project-specific maintenance of the the city of hamburg’s own’s own construction applications for site and traffic management, including roads, BauWeiser and OKTAGON.

IT: Provider of integrated IT systems
LOOPED is looking for a project partner with expertise in the planning, deployment and operation of integrated IT system environments. You will create an IT system landscape that brings together all business applications of our IT partners – either browser-based or on-premises – as part of a comprehensive approach. To this end, you will set up the data lake, which acts as a consolidating data store, bringing together all specialist content. The integration platform built on top of this supports machine-driven data analysis, processing and evaluation, laying the foundation for the automation of planning and construction processes. On this basis, AI agents can be trained in the workflows of connected construction applications.

Municipal infrastructure construction is hampered by the fragmentation of specialist IT applications across planning, construction and operations. Join forces with LOOPED to demonstrate that integrated IT systems lay the groundwork for synergistic development at both regional and municipal authority levels. For the time being, our system landscape should be limited to operational use during the project duration, with the option for future expansion. In implementing the product vision, the aim is to create, in collaboration with all IT partners, a procurement platform for construction services that can help alleviate the structural burden on municipal authority budgets.

Personal contribution
As the project and construction authority for LOOPED, LSBG plays a leading role in the technical coordination of the construction work and the independent delivery of specialist services relating to planning and construction.
• Project and construction project management, including procurement for all construction and IT contracts
• Construction supervision, BIM management/overall coordination, including AVA processes
• HOAI Phases 01 to 03 (German fee scale for architects and engineers) for all bus stops specified in the LOOPED project
In addition, the LSBG is responsible for the products relating to the modular structure of the serial construction methodology in collaboration with our IT partners. This may involve either extensive product development or primarily product utilisation.
• Product ownership, including the DEV team, in selected modules/use cases
• Development of role concepts and processes within the quality management team
• Handover of IT product modules to operational planning and construction implementation
